Yet Another Good Reason to Shop at CVS

Store loyalty cards get a bad rap. Some believe that they are a “Big Brother” conspiracy. But I take advantage of their many benefits, and have for years.

The biggest benefit, aside from discounts, exists in linking your grocery store loyalty card to your Upromise account. Upromise tracks your qualifying purchases, and helps you save for college.

If you are not familiar with the program, here is a breakdown:

Join Upromise for free.
Look for the Upromise logo on items and store shelves.*
Use your registered grocery or drugstore card at checkout.
Save 1% to 5% on thousands of items.

I have been a Upromise member since the birth of my first child. The savings are slowly adding up, but every little bit will help in the future. Here is a look at my account:

Your Upromise Savings: $140.74

Not a huge amount, but hey, it’s FREE money! Now that I am a loyal CVS shopper, I am starting to see my savings increase. Did you know you can link your CVS Extra Care Card number to your Upromise account?

I am so very glad I did. This month alone, I “earned” an extra $0.28 by purchasing the Listerine Smart Rinse (which was actually free). Although I paid with ECB’s it still registers as a purchase in my Upromise account. Double bonus, yee haw!

If you have not signed up for Upromise, what are you waiting for? Membership is 100% free, and you can actually open an account for each family member. Use the code 5Tylenol when you register to receive an extra $5 in your account.

We even have an account for my husband to assist in eventually paying off student loans. Existing Sallie Mae loan holders can have Upromise funds automatically transferred to their loan balance each quarter.

This month, Upromise is offering a promotion where you get $10 when you join and shop online (through Upromise) before June 30th. Any small purchase will qualify, so spend under $10 and it is basically free!

I am actually an affiliate for Upromise, so if you open an account for any family member through this link, I will receive $5. Since I am a loyal Upromise account holder myself, I can wholeheartedly recommend it to my readers. Thank you for supporting my blog!

If you are already a Upromise member, be sure to register your CVS card for even more savings!

Glad you mentioned this! We’ve had upromise, but I forgot about it and I haven’t updated our registered cards. Turns out that we have over $42 there anyway! I will get everything registered again. Thanks!!
