Nielson Home Scan Panel now accepting new applicants

January 14, 2010

I have been a member of the Nielson HomeScan Panel for several months now, and I have to say that I absolutely love it!  I really enjoy scanning my products and letting people know what I purchase.

From the Nielsen HomeScan website:

“The Homescan® Consumer Panel is a “mini-U.S.A.,” representing millions of Americans. By scanning the barcodes on their purchases and completing fun surveys, panelists truly make their opinions count in the consumer marketplace.”

Basically, all you do is scan the products you buy (even the ones online), key in any coupons you use, and transmit your purchases to the HomeScan website.

For me, it is a lot of fun.  The scanner is easy to use, as is the website.  You receive points for scanning and transmitting your products, and for taking surveys.  You can trade in the points for fabulous gifts.  You also get entered into Nielson’s awesome sweepstakes.

If you are interested in becoming a Panelist for Nielson, sign up here. But, you do need to hurry!  This offer goes very quickly.  Even if you miss this opportunity, you should still be able to sign up and get put on a waiting list.

Ok, so I have tried to qualify for that for SOOO long and they always said they don’t need anyone in my area right now. So, I tried it one more time just for the heck of it and the actually let me go further than I have before. At the end, I got a letter that said, we will send you a scanner when one becomes available for a household like yours. Did it say that to you when you qualified or did you get one right away?

Yay! That’s exactly what it told me… “that when one becomes available I would get one”. It should mean you are on their list. I’m glad you kept trying… sometimes they are looking for a very specific group of people.
