We all know the quintessential Valentine’s Day gift: a box of chocolate, right? How boring!
With a little creativity, some paper, address labels, and some stamps, you can make your own custom box of chocolate using the same method I shared for my business cards.
Is that not the cutest box of chocolate ever? This was actually the craft at our MOPS meeting last week, so I am not the brains behind this adorableness. But I just had to share this fun and frugal Valentine’s gift idea!
Any small box will do, but this particular box was created from a die-cut, then embellished with stamps on all sides.
Inside are those delightful Hershey’s nuggets, each wrapped in a pre-printed address label. The labels are stamped generously, without any particular pattern to give it that artsy feel.
Any mushy saying will do, but these chocolates display one of my favorite scriptures… 1 Corinthians 13:4-8.
Love is patient, love is kind.
It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud.
It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs.
Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth.
It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.
Love never fails.
This is one box of chocolate my husband will never forget!

That is SO CUTE! I especially love the box. I’ve done the chocolates before — but I really like how you mentioned to stamp them without any particular pattern. So much cuter than mine.

I love this idea! Would you possibly post the template for the verses–I know this is asking alot but it would save me loads of time! If there is some way to repay you I will be glad to-promise!

They turned out SO cute Alyssa! Mwah!
Alyssa, I will email you the label template, I see it was requested.
For FREE nugget box templates go to http://www.splitcoaststampers.com, and search for “nugget boxes” – you’ll find LOADS of templates for boxes of all shapes and sizes. In fact, you’ll find loads of free templates for all kinds of nifty craft projects.
And you don’t need fancy archival quality scrapbooking paper for this, since more than likely the box will be tossed away after the chocolate are eaten. An entire ream of office-quality cardstock (by the copier paper at your big box store) runs about $4.

That’s the best box of chocolate I’ve ever seen. Beautiful. You know… you should partner with a small gourmet chocolate shop or something/one and actually market this idea.

This is such an adaptable idea! You could make boxes of chocolate for birthdays with:
– a photocopied picture of the person as a baby
– a themed joke on each one for someone who works in a specific profession (lawyer, doctor, teacher, etc.)
– a message from each child for Fathers Day
So many easy ways to use this one gift idea. Thanks for sharing it!

Love these additional ideas, Mel! Chocolate is a great gift for any occasion, in my opinion. 🙂
