Thank you for your insight, Amanda. What a great way to put it: being "bound." There really isn't a better way to describe what unforgiveness does to us! Thank you for sharing!

<blockquote>I don’t have to feel forgiving in order to forgive. I make the choice and then ask God to change my emotions and feelings.

Very well-said, Kimberly. Thank you.

Forgiveness is our legacy. We forgive because we have been forgiven. Amen.

It is also a choice. I don't have to feel forgiving in order to forgive. I make the choice and then ask God to change my emotions and feelings. Thank you for this reminder.

My mom and I were just talking about forgiveness yesterday. We were discussing how so many people don't realize that unforgiveness actually keeps them bound. When we harbor unforgiveness, many times it affects us more than the individual that has wronged us. That means, we hurt ourselves by not forgiving others.

By forgiving others, we release any resentment that is pent up inside making us miserable, and this allows God to give us peace about our situation. That's when people are able to see in us the power of true forgiveness.
