A good Thursday evening to you! We are on Day 25 of my series, 31 Days of Young Living Essential Oils, and if this is your first time visiting, you can catch up on the the other days here.

Clove has a sweet, spicy fragrance that is stimulating and revitalizing. Because of its wonderful immune-enhancing properties, Clove is one of the oils in the Thieves blend. Clove is commonly used to decrease pain from dental work and toothaches. It also works to numb pain from and help heal mouth sores.

I like to diffuse Clove with Orange for fantastic, spicy scent. Clove has also been known to help with digestive upsets.

Clove is very numbing, and I have used it when Cam is teething. I diluted it quite a bit {35 drops of coconut oil to 1 drop of Clove oil} and carefully rubbed along his jawline. Cam didn’t enjoy me putting it on him – he’s not a fan of anyone messing with his mouth to begin with! – but he didn’t fuss or cry. It seemed to help him, because his demeanor changed, and he would settle down. For us, it is a natural, inexpensive alternative to other teething remedies.

And inexpensive it is! A 15 ml bottle of Clove is a little over $15 wholesale {distributor}, and the teething mix will last a long time if it is carefully stored. {I like to keep it in a glass container in my kitchen so the coconut oil stays soft and liquid, rather than become a solid. You do what works for you!} We are talking pocket change here, people! You can’t beat that!

I have also used it for mouth sores, and it is numbing and helps the sore go away quickly. That’s probably one of the reasons that Thieves works so well for me, too! Clove is an ingredient!

Before using Young Living Essential Oils, I highly recommend you find someone local (or you are welcome to contact me!) for more education on using these wonderful, powerful oils. I have a monthly class (sometimes, bi-monthly), where we go over the proper usage of these amazing products. Knowledge is power, right?
