Summer, Swimming and Snow Cones…

As of today, I am no longer the parent of a 2nd Grader. I was firmly corrected by Sara who informed that she is now a 3rd Grader. Yes, today was the last day of school. Summer is officially here.

Am I seriously old enough to have a 3rd Grader? One that no longer calls me “Mommy”, but “Mom”? My sweet little Sara is growing up way too fast. At the pool today, to kick off the season, Sara effortlessly snatched up her 2-year old sister and splashed around, smiling and laughing. Tonight, she made pasta for dinner. What’s next, driving?

After dinner, we enjoyed a deliciously refreshing trip to the Snow Cone stand. The girls eagerly dove into their selections… watermelon and citris cooler. Sweet sticky melted snow cones soon covered their faces and shirts. Yes, summer is officially here.
