What I’m Reading

So, Cam decided to take two 2-hour naps every. single. day. this week. I’m not complaining in the least, and I hope it becomes a trend, but he slept on my bed, rather than in his pack-n-play, so I had to stay close to make sure he didn’t roll off the bed. Since I didn’t have internet access, I spend quite a bit of time reading and went through several short books:

All of these books were downloaded when they were free, but I highly recommend spending the money on the marriage book and the adoption book (if you are considering adoption).

Our Week

As I mentioned on Facebook, I unintentionally took time off this week. Falls Creek does have internet access, and I did pay for it, but it didn’t want to cooperate when I needed it to. However, I did get a few things done, and things should be returning to normal, now that our crazy summer is behind us.

If you haven’t already, be sure to share your creative tip or idea for teaching math to children ages 3 – 5 years old. You will be entered to win a $100 gift card just for sharing your tip!

Also, have you ever considered babywearing? Do you already wear your little one? Have you seen the MobyGO? Be sure to check out my review on this very awesome baby product!

Now, on to our week. Minus the internet issues, we had a great week at Falls Creek church camp. We are blessed in that the camp is less than 45 minutes away from our town, making it a very short trip home. This year, the kids and I stayed in a little apartment across the street from our cabin. We decided it would be easier on everyone if the kids and I stayed separately, and it really did work out well. My kids were able to get the rest they needed and still have a good time with the students. If you want to read up on Falls Creek, you are more than welcome. I’m not sure how many 6th – 12th graders were in attendance this week, but it is usually somewhere between 6,000 – 8,000. Our group took over 100 sponsors and students total, a little less than in year’s past. In addition to the morning and evening Tabernacle services, our group also has small group Bible studies and in-cabin worship.

This was the first year for both Meleah and Cam to attend with us. Cam was adored by everyone and was constantly being toted around by one student or another. Meleah made everyone laugh with her silly antics. Abby Grace discovered Jungle Pong, and turned out to be a really good player. Reese lost another tooth… during the evening Tabernacle service, and spent the week charming everyone with her deep voice and sweetness.

In other news, Cam turned 10 months old on Tuesday, and when we got home from Falls Creek, I discovered our dryer no longer worked! I’m not sure what is wrong because I was able to turn it on this morning, but it is making a funny noise and smells like something is burning… so I won’t be using it. At least it waited until AFTER Falls Creek and not BEFORE. It’s the little things, people!

Coming Up

Next week, I have a garage sale planned, two of my girls will be visiting their cousins, and I’m going to tell you how you can follow this blog on Google+ (I promise it’s a good thing and not just “another social media thing”) {wink}.

Have a great weekend!
