Another DFWCHIX Meet-up

Yesterday, my two older daughters and I headed to Dallas to the Ringling Brother’s circus to meet up with the other DFWCHIX.

We ended up sitting by Alyssa, Stephanie, and Rachel, but Hollie, Dwan, Donna, and Susan were in other sections, so I never got to see them.  Darn it!  But, a bonus of the night was meeting two new (to me… you guys know I’m still a rookie!) bloggers, Nessa and Lynette.  They are so nice, and it was so great meeting them!

The girls enjoyed most of the circus, with A’s favorite part being the tigers, mine being the dirt bike riders inside the steel cage (Donna has a fabulous video of this!), and R’s being snuggling with Stephanie.  Yes, my little R made a new friend.  She is still talking about her friend Stephanie!reese-with-my-new-toy

All in all, it was a nice trip that ended with Ms. Directionally Challenged looking for her vehicle.  Yes, your’s truly managed to forget exactly where she was parked.  I knew it was in a parking garage and I knew it was right next to the pay booth (is that what that is called???).  And, I also knew that when I walked into the AA Center, I went right passed the fan shop.  I realized when we walked out and I could not find my SUV, that there might be more than one fan shop in the AA Center.

Oops.

Luckily, my good buds Steph and Rachel (and Rachel’s adorable kiddos and fabulous husband) walked all over creation to find my me to my Tahoe.  So, I was not alone.  In the middle of Dallas.  With no clue where I was.

One cool aspect of the insane trip to find my SUV was that we walked by the WFAA Channel 8 studio and watched Pete Delkus deliver the weather in front of the green screen.  That was really neat.

I also enjoyed watching Rachel’s super-nice hubby walking around carrying the baby on his back in a carrier with my big Canon hung around his neck.  That was pretty cute.  Rach, you have a wonderful husband… even if he didn’t know my first name.

The highlight of the trip was spending the night with Alyssa and her family!  My girls were soooo excited!  After I finally located my vehicle, we followed Alyssa to her house, put all the girls to bed, and had our own “girl time.”

Thursday was spent at Alyssa’s house, with our girls playing together and hanging out.  It was so nice!  Thanks, Alyssa, so much for letting us stay with you!

And, a big thank you to Lauren Sleeper of Mom Central and Mom Central Consulting for the circus tickets!
