Before I go shopping, I always remember to plan:
Pray :: Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; Phil 4:6. Read The Shopper’s Serenity Prayer.
List :: Always shop with a list! Your list should include both immediate needs for your menu plan and sale items matched with coupons for stockpiling.
Accelerate :: Get in, get out. Studies have shown that the more time shoppers spend in a store, the more money they will spend!
No impulse buys :: Stick to that list!

Just letting you know that I gave you an award today. Check it out at my blog…

Love this plan. Oh what wise words these are. I so need to remember this – every. single. time.
Staying on budget is something I have been working on for a while and greatly improved in but I’m sure that if I could stick to this 100% – it would be even better. 🙂
I should really follow this!
Total agree!
I never go shopping without my full list. I’m not much of a shopper anyway so I prefer to be in and out.
Sometimes I forget about “N” though 🙂 (Don’t we all?)
I love your website. I am just starting out on couponing and would love some tips on what is the best way to use coupons and plan weekly meals.
Thanks
Sarah
I totaly agree with your plan! When I “turbo” shop I do so much better. I try not to lament in the store…only when shopping for craft supplies. lol, but you’ve totaly got this one right on!
