October CVS Update

October is here! That means your Summer quarterly Extra Care earnings will be printing with your receipt upon your next visit.

For those of you unfamiliar with quarterly Extra Bucks:

CVS tracks your spending by season. Every 3 months, you will receive additional Extra Care Bucks based on your OOP spending. You earn 2% back of every purchase in-store and online. Unless you are filling multiple prescriptions, your spending hopefully will be quite low.

For example, I spent well under $100 out-of-pocket during the Summer quarter. So, my quarterly Extra Care bucks? A whopping $1.00. I am quite happy with that number!

Since I began CVSing in March of this year, I have saved almost $2000.

I actually visited my favorite CVS yesterday for the first time in a while. I spent roughly $4.00 OOP, and saved over $48. It’s good to be back! Along with my $1.00, I also received several generous CRT coupons. That is a refreshing change!

October also brings new deals. This month is looking a bit more promising than September. Here are some highlights from the October Extra Care book:

CVS Vitamin D-400 100 ct $2.99 FREE after ECB’s Limit 1

WellPatch Arthritis Relief Pads 3ct $5.99 FREE after ECB’s Limit 5

Colgate MaxFresh Toothbrush or Toothpaste with Mouthwash Beads $2.99 earns $2.00 ECB’s Limit 2

Ayr Saline Nasal Sinus Spray or Rinse Kit $3.99 earns $3.00 ECB’s

Don’t forget that you can also get your Flu Shot on your next visit to CVS! I will certainly be getting mine since it is highly recommended for pregnant women.

Now that I am feeling a bit better these days, I hope to get back into my regular CVS routine! If you are itching to learn the mysterious ways of CVSing, stop by The CVS $5 Challenge each week.

So tell me, how much did you earn for your Summer spending?

I got $7 but I did not spend $700 so I have no idea what that is about.

I got some great coupons from the machine as well and I am just waiting for my CVS to stock up on the October free items so I can get them.

i received $1.50 🙂 using that with a coupon to get the toothpaste for 50 cents then turning around and getting a toothbrush with the ecbs i get from the first purchase. 🙂

I received $3. When I saw the amount, I thought, “Hey, that’s not very much!” However, your logic makes sense – I save so much at CVS that I’m really not spending much…and, therefore, not earning many quarterly ECBs. Thanks for making me feel better! 😉

I got $7.00 too. That’s about $350 spent, but I’m okay with that. My savings is several thousand!

Not sure if it applies everywhere, but I got a great October deal at my store yesterday. The Welch’s grape juice is in the October book at Buy 2, Get $3 extra bucks (limit 5). The Welch’s Light grape juice was all on clearance at 50% off ($2.35 per bottle).

    I got 10 bottles:
    Original value = $46.90
    Clearance price = $23.50
    ECBs earned = $15.00
    Final cost = $8.50 ($.85 per bottle – 82% savings!) Woohoo!

I received $3 ecb’s. I started cvs at the end of august, so not too shabby? I don’t think so! I’m getting better, now I understand the importance of the $3/15Q and $4/20Q-love it!!
