This precious little guy is Mark Christian… my very first nephew! He arrived last night at 6:05pm after a very long labor.
My sister-in-law and I have enjoyed being pregnant together for the last several months. And yesterday, she became a mother.
As she stared intently at her new son, I remembered. That moment of joy when you realize your heart will never be the same.
I drove home silently thanking God for my family. The birth of my nephew renewed my purpose as a mother. It can easily get lost among the laundry and the whining we all know so well.
When I got home, I kissed my sleeping girls on the cheek and hugged them tight. Later in bed, my son let his presence be known with his ferocious kicks and somersaults.
I can’t wait to hold you, sweet baby!
