Wordless Wednesday: Spring Dress

Suddenly at the age of 3, Leah stubbornly insists that dresses are her wardrobe of choice. I fought it as long as I could. And then I realized- a dress is an entire outfit. No pieces for Daddy to match.

At $5, this thrift-store Gymboree dress is oh-so-frugal. Doesn’t it go perfectly with a warm spring day? Leah tries out the spinning factor, and she approves!

Now how will I dress my baby boy? I have a lot to learn…

Oh she is beautiful. I love dressing my boys. There are lots of cute clothes. You’ll have fun. And since most boys clothes are neutrals matching shouldn’t be too hard for Dad. My husband is usually very successful!

very cute dress, I love the way she is swirling it 🙂 Boys all you need is 7 t-shirts, 7 pair of shorts and you are set for an entire season, supereasy!

My daughter is just like this, and I also realized that dresses are not only adorable and modest, but easy 🙂

Leah is a beautiful girl, like her sister and momma! Bella loves dresses as well, doesn’t every 3 yr old? And, yes, no matching required, BONUS! It snowed several inches here last night, so no dress/sandal weather here, lol….

    What a cute dress!

I too am wondering how to dress a boy. My husband insists it will be so easier- just t-shirts and jeans. But then that’s just not as fun…

I agree with all the above – and We Love Dresses, even in the Virginia winter! So girly! There are a couple of brands that turn up a lot at the thrift stores – Gymboree being one of them – because they last for so long. And I can’t believe you said “warm spring day.” I vaguely remember warm weather…. 🙂

It’s very pretty – I do not get out much ( live in a forest away from the thrifty stores ) – but I do EBAY! 🙂 I have found lots of great deals there. AND if it does not fit, etc.. I re-sell it to someone who it would hopefully. I shopped TCP bottom line clearance one day (got out for an excursion) and still found that I could do better on Ebay for most of the items that I bought.

So cute! Both, the little princess and the dress (and the shoes too). And you just reminded I need to find thrift stores around here!

  9. Amy says

Lol! My niece is the same way… she only wears dresses. Period! My girls love dresses, too, but they HAVE to have leggings. They insist on it.

I have a 3 yo that has insisted on wearing dresses for about a year now…all day long, that’s her preference. And that’s fine with me as long as she gets dressed for the ‘winter’ weather when we leave the house. Wearing dresses made for easier potty training 🙂 There’s nothing like finding a cute dress at a resale shop or yard sale!

  11. The Happy Housewife says

I love dresses for my girls too. Not only are the abundant at the thrift store and yard sales, they are actually easy to make too! If I can find fabric on sale I can make one for a few bucks!
As for boys, my boys try to wear the same clothes for days at a time, so they don’t need a huge wardrobe! 🙂
