Formula company freebies may not be the good deals that they appear to be at first. Think about it…why would they want you to succeed at breastfeeding? If you don’t, you will be forced to spend thousands of dollars on their product. So, their “tips and tricks” booklets are designed to lead you to pumping and supplementing. Their “free” sample of formula can mess with your milk supply, leading to the vicious cycle of having to supplement due to low supply, then having lower supply due to the supplementing, and so on until there is nothing left. For most moms, God gave us everything we need to nourish our babies – FREE. Please don’t set yourself up for failure by falling for the “free gift” scam. If you need help, contact a breastfeeding support group such as LLL (free help!) or hire a lactation consultant. It’s still cheaper than formula.

I, and many moms out there, can’t breastfeed despite best efforts. I appreciate the formula freebies very much. Thank you very much for posting these.
I was most grateful for free formula when my kids were first born. Despite my best efforts, my first would not nurse and the Doctor TOLD me to use formula. My second nursed with no problems. By the Grace of God, both have been wonderfully healthy. I think the formula companies are great to help out with a little free formula!
