Wash Your Hands of Over Spending?

This makes me giggle, so I just had to share it. My mother has a knack for finding unique gifts. During her recent visit, she left behind mini Easter Baskets for me and hubby.

This is what I found inside:

Hand Soap… and not just any soap!

“The Internationally Famous Dr. Harvey Quant’s Hand Soap: for Uncontrolled SPENDING Leading to an over-used CREDIT CARD & an unhappy bank manager”

Wow, that’s a mouthful! Of course, it’s a gag gift, as mom is well aware that we don’t use credit cards… anymore.

The irony on the soap box is the “unhappy bank manager”. On the contrary! Banks that loan money encourage us to use those cards, rack up those points or miles, and are certainly not unhappy when we max out our limit!

While this soap is lovely, we all know it will not help curb over spending. What will? Start with some good ol’ plastic surgery.

Cut up the cards!

Tell me, dear readers, what are your methods for controlling your spending?

    Too funny!

My method to controlling spending: I stay home and away from the stores. I try to only go grocery/household shopping once every 2 weeks.

Just keeping track of what I spend and trying to challenge myself to keep it under budget keeps me on track.
