First things first…
FALSE ALARM!
I woke up around 5am Saturday morning with contractions and could not go back to sleep. So, I did what any blogger would do- got out of bed and scheduled 3 weekend posts.
Several hours and contractions later, I felt it was time to find out if this was the real thing. The kids were sent off to Grandma’s and we headed for the hospital.
After hours of strong contractions 5-10 minutes apart, nothing. Not dilated. Sent home. Same thing all day Sunday, but no real progress.
Last night I did not get much sleep, so I went to see my doctor today to find out if anything had changed. I am dilated to a 3, but not in active labor. My due date is actually not until April 24th, however my girls were both 10 days early.
I will keep y’all posted!

I just heard Beth Moore say that in Isaiah 30:18, the same word is used to describe our waiting AND the LORD’s waiting…He is “longing” (waiting) to be gracious to you, which means that there is something tremendous that the wait is for!

Hi there, Labor nurse here.
some basics for ruling out false labor…what we tell every mom when they call wanting to know if they are in labor… also call your hospital first, before you come in. We appreciate the heads up and can make sure we have enough nurses to care for you…
1. contractions 3-5 minutes apart consistently for an hour.
2. can’t walk or talk through them.
3. if not sure about contractions, soak in a warm bath, drink lots of water and lay on your left side…they’ll either slow down or get stronger.

oh, but if your water breaks, or you are bleeding or are not feeling baby move, call the hospital and let them know what’s going on, sooner than later
