A Melting Pot Meet-Up

On Sunday, I had the chance to combine 3 of my favorite things…

Cheese, chocolate… and blogging, of course!

Ten local DFW bloggers, myself included, met up for a delicious dinner at The Melting Pot in Southlake, TX. Many of us have connected at one time or another through blogging or Twitter, so Rachel organized this fabulous event, complete with a private room.

We chatted nonstop over an amazing four course dinner in a private room. This was a special treat for a tired mama, and my first real “night out” since Colin was born.  I enjoyed getting out of my frumpy post-partum duds and wearing an actual dress!

The food and the service was impeccable, which made the whole experience quite relaxing. I am not sure what I enjoyed the most, the 3 selections of cheese fondue, the fresh strawberries dipped in dark chocolate, or the wonderful fellowship. Of course, this meal is not helping me shed the last of that stubborn baby weight, but it was so delicious I do not care one bit!

While The Melting Pot is certainly not the most frugal of restaurants, it is definitely worth a rare splurge for special occasions. My husband and I actually enjoyed an anniversary there one year, and it was so romantic!

Thankfully, there are always great coupons available for a Melting Pot experience. The DFW (and likely many others) Entertainment Book has a coupon in it for a B1G1 Free dinner (you can get your 2009 Entertainment Book for FREE right now if you preorder your 2010 one) or 20% off of your Fondue for 2.  You can also get a free chocolate fondue for 2 by signing up for the Club Fondue newsletter!

We have affectionately dubbed ourselves the “DFW Chix” and hope to expand our little group for future get togethers.
