BT Snacks Giveaway 7.24.09

The school year is now in full swing in many parts of the country. Are you collecting Box Tops for Education?

Congrats to commenter #49, Jennifer, the winner selected at random!

A small act of service than can have a big impact on your child’s school, Box Tops are a simple way to give more. Especially in this economy, where many schools are forced to cut back, even clipping just a few Box Tops a year makes a difference. Over 90,000 schools participate in the program, public and private alike.

The little pink tabs are on many products that my family uses on a regular basis. Box Tops is partnered with several brands under General Mills, which is one of the reasons I wanted to visit their headquarters last week.

They have also recently partnered with Avery, an office supply brand.  Be sure to look for Box Tops on school supplies you may be buying anyway!

I love that there are always coupons for products with Box Tops, including printables right on their website!

Many items currently have BONUS Box Tops, including Pillsbury Toaster Strudel and Totinos Pizza Rolls. I received a Box Tops prize pack like the one pictured above, and thanks to My Blog Spark, I have 1 to giveaway to a lucky reader!

The “Top This” prize pack includes:

  • (1) free coupon for Toaster Strudel
  • (1) free coupon for Totino´s Pizza Rolls
  • a Box Tops For Education certificate worth 10 bonus Box Tops

Bonus: you can clip up to 14 Box Tops coupons from the products in your prize pack!

I always liked pudding after school. Weird since I don’t like pudding at all these days!

my favorite after school snack was “ants on a log” celery sticks with peanut butter and raisins on the top for the ants.

  3. Kari says

My favorite snack as a kid – I remember my mom making ham and cheese rolls (Carl Budding ham rolled up with a layer of cream cheese). I’d watch Sesame Street and eat them! Fantastic!

  4. Kimber says

Okay, I know how weird this sounds – but a Ritz cracker with a piece of cheese on top … and a pickle slice on top of that. Yeah, I know … but try it sometime! It’s actually delicious!

  5. Rayna says

My favorite after school snack as a kid was those really cheap store brand iced oatmeal cookies. My grandma bought them by the case but I never got tired of them.

  6. Ella_Bella says

They’re quick to make, and great in a hurry (cuz homework is a-waitin’: vanilla yogurt mixed with cereal (I loved Crispix) and strawberry jam. Yummy!

  7. Mellisa W. says

I grew up in the 80’s and apparently my mom had no idea what the word nutrition ment. I generally had a 32 oz suicide soda and a KING size candy bar. Ah, the good old days.

  8. Melissa says

I enjoyed cereal with milk or a hotdog -I guess depending on whether I was feeling sweet or savory.

  9. Laura Shepherd says

My favorite afterschool snack growing up was basic cheese & crackers. We always had healthy options, including lots of fresh fruit too, so all I knew was healthy. However, the cheese & crackers were my fav.

  10. Sidni says

Peanut butter & apples or if we had celery that week I’d eat celery & peanut butter. I also loved celery with cream cheese. Mom was a health nut so we always had cut celery & carrots in the fridge & a variety of fresh fruits. Gramma made the best homemade granola, I loved it when we’d drizzle honey on top or put it into a yogurt!

  11. Maggie says

I loved cream cheese and jelly on rice cakes! Yes dorky but only loved it when mommy made it for us!! YUMMO!

  12. Sharon J. says

I want my children to eat fruit when they get home. Not junk food. Almost any fruit or yogart will do.

  13. Stephanie Bruce says

I loved Auntie Annes Pretzels. My Dad would take me over to the mall (4 blocks) and I would get a regular pretzel NO SALT and lemonade

  14. Tamara B. says

My favorite after school snack when I was a kid was Premium Saltine crackers with Peter Pan Peanut Butter. I use to make little sandwiches out of them.

  15. Kimberly in NC says

My mom used to cut up cheddar and mozarella cheese and pair the cheese with grapes. I still love this combo!

  16. Jennifer says

My all time favorite snack was fresh spinach with ranch dressing (still sounds good!) Second favorite was anything with a little bit of chocolate!

  17. Justine says

We were a fruit kinda family – so an apple (sometimes with peanut butter) hit the spot after school!

  18. Cathy says

I remember eating Aunt Jemima blueberry pancakes when I was a kid! I don ‘t know if they make those anymore — all mixed, ready to pour.

  19. Priscilla says

a piece of bread, spread ketchup on it & then a slice of cheese, microwave until cheese melts…a quick mini-pizza.

Now that I’m an adult it doesn’t sound very yummy especially when compared to real pizza.

  20. Gina says

My brother and I walked from school to either my mom’s job or the library after school. We would stop at Arby’s on the way there and either get a cherry turnover or curly fries. Not the healthiest snack in the world! I am now wondering why my mom didn’t pack us a snack in our backpacks. Hmmmm.

  21. says

My favorite “after-school-snack” as a kid was to come home to apple slices with peanut butter and Nutella. Oh, yummy….going to the kitchen now!

I used to love having olives and cheese after school. Maybe with some bread and butter, maybe not!

  23. Jenn says

My favorite after school snack as a kid was fruit roll ups lol. I would never let my son eat those as a healthy snack
