You know that old cell phone you have sitting in a drawer? The one you intended to recycle but just never got around to it?
Well, now there is some really good incentive to do just that. Walmart recently partnered with Gazelle to make electronics recycling easier than ever. Shipping is free, and you can even receive Walmart gift cards for qualifying items!
Items they accept for trade:
- Cell Phones & PDA’s
- Cameras
- Computers and Accessories
- Video Games and Consoles
- GPS Devices
- MP3 and Audio Players
- Movie and Blu-ray players
There is nothing to purchase or pay for. Note that not all items qualify for a trade in value, but Gazelle will still accept them and recycle them responsibly at no cost to you.
I grabbed my husband’s old cell phone to see what they would offer me for it. Here are the results:
Not bad at all! They will give me $16 for something I have collecting dust in a drawer. My old broken laptop did not qualify for a gift card, but I would still love to get it properly recycled.
I encourage you to look around the house for old electronics that you might send to Gazelle. Walmart gift cards may come in handy with the holidays right around the corner!
Recycling is an important part of being a good steward, so why not earn a little extra spending money while doing so?
