Chocolate + Business Card= BLISS (A craft)

In T-minus 2 days, 500 bloggers will descend upon Nashville. Nearly all of them will be bringing business cards. With potentially thousands of business cards changing hands, I wanted to give mine a little something special.

This is a quick and easy craft that would also work for party or shower favors, or perhaps a fun addition to your Valentine’s treats.

My crafty friend, Kim, inspired this idea, and I simply adore it! Let’s start with the most important factor: the chocolate. It cannot be just any chocolate. It must be Hershey’s Nuggets. They are the exact size and shape you will need for this project.

Hersheys-NuggetsI picked up this large assortment at Walmart for $7.97 and ate half the bag sampled a few pieces. Then you will need some labels. Not just any labels!

Avery-labelsAvery White Address Labels– number 48860. These will set you back $4.00 for a pack of 300 at Walmart. Then you need some little baggies, found in the craft section:

jewelry-baggiesThese cost $1.53 for a pack of 100, and are sized 3 by 4 inches.

Print your custom labels next.  I used a standard ink-jet printer. You can use the online Avery Templates to create your message in the font, color and size of your choice. You can even print sideways like this:

printed-labelMy labels say Faith, Family and Frugality. I then embellished them a bit with a pretty stamp.

stamp-pad-inkNot so frugal, but if you are crafty you may already have these supplies on hand, or ask a friend! I accented my labels generously with the stamp, not worrying about perfection.

Final Steps:

Take one label at a time, and wrap it around the Hershey’s Nugget. Center the word over the chocolate. It fits like a glove. Place 3 or so nuggets in the baggie, and seal.  Attach your business card or various decor with a stapler, and voila!

The finished product I am taking to Blissdom:

chocolate-favorsAren’t they simply adorable? Chocolate lovers, rejoice!  The best part? This craft is super easy. Even I could do it. 😉 Now I just have to wrap and stuff about 200 more Nuggets!

My beautiful business cards were designed by Joy of Five J’s Design. I had them printed for FREE through Vista Print (250 for new customers, just pay shipping).

If you are going to Blissdom this week, and you love chocolate (who doesn’t?), be sure to come introduce yourself! I would love to hand over my card.

I love it! When I was a rep for a direct sales company, we often did this for events but mine never looked as cute as yours! You will definitely make an impression and people will remember you! Enjoy Blissdom! I wish I was going to be there since it is so close to home but I just can’t do it this time. Be blessed!

Alyssa, I love it. Funny timing because I was trying to think of something to make for my nursing classmates for Valentine’s. This is a fantastic idea!

I just sent this to one of my friends who is planning a wedding. Make the cards with the couple’s new contact information, put their names on the chocolate, and it’s a great wedding favor!

This is awesome. Simple, yet elegant and not very time consuming to produce. I’m putting this on my list of projects to complete for my customers and adding the link to my “Favorites.” Thanks for sharing this super idea.
