redbox

Do you love movies? I do, and I love renting my movies from Redbox (Redbox fans, you know what I’m talking about!).

Renting movies from Redbox is so easy and convenient, not to mention a frugal entertainment option.  I just head to my local Redbox location, pick a movie, and voilà! We are ready to watch!

No lines, no waiting. No problem.

I was super excited to see they just added a Redbox kiosk right outside my local Walgreens. And we all know how much I love me some Wags. 😉

Redbox now has a feature where you can reserve your movie online for even easier renting. If you have an iPhone, you can download their Redbox app for even more renting fun.

What is Redbox?

Redbox specializes in the vending of rental DVDs via self-service/interactive kiosks.

Redbox kiosks are located across the United States in fast food restaurants, pharmacies, grocery stores, and convenience stores. The machines can be identified by their trademark red appearance and the slight arching of their top surface, as seen in the company’s logo. source

I think my husband loves Redbox more than I do as he always seems to wait until I’m at the store to request a movie for me to bring home. We have watched more movies since Redbox came out than we have in the last 5 years! It’s convenient as there are now 2 redbox’s on the way to drop my kids at school.

  2. Karalin says

I love the free code they send out via text message on the first Monday of the month! My husband and I have a guaranteed “date” at home each month!

  3. Carolsue says

I like that you can return them to ANY Redbox, not just the one your rented at

  4. deb gibson says

I LOVE REDBOX!! My eight-year-old daughter can pick her own movies from the family genre as I check out at the grocery store… much healthier option than all the candy bars she used to beg for while I was doing coupons at the register!!!

  5. Rhonda says

I like that you can type in the movie you are looking for, rather than walking through a store to find it. And when we’re late returning it (which we usually are) it is only $1.00 per night.

  6. LisaR. says

What I love about Redbox rentals is that the process takes only a few minutes to get your movie – no lines – get right back in your car and your off!

  7. Joy C. says

I’ve never used Redbox but I’m certainly willing to give it a try. Hoping to win – and I do have a Redbox pretty near! Thanks for the chance. Blessings Sister!

  8. Jen U says

and … I’m an email follower. Thank you for the useful tips. (especially loved the TP post this morning … am headed to the bathroom to reign in another unraveling adventure right now!

  10. Sarah G says

We love Redbox, because it’s so economical! We usually only watch a DVD one time, and it makes more sense to spend a $1 for a one night rental, than $5 for a week.

  11. Sidni H. says

I love RED BOX! I love the convenience of them. They are located all over in my city. At our local Walmart there are 2 of them. In front of Circle Ks which are just about every other mile. Wallgreens also! We are always reserving movies online on our way to stores. Thanks for this great giveaway! I hope we win!

  12. Erin says

I love that they send you free codes every once inawhile. My hubby usually is the one to get the free codes on his cell. Not sure why the quit sending them to me. but since He is the movie watcher (yeah four kids, a dog, a job and a house what mom has time for sitting down and watching movies) it works out fine . He just stops by on his way home from work and grabs a movie.

  13. Angela says

    I LOVE Redbox.

It’s hard to describe what I like “best”. It would probably be the online reserve. I can look up a movie and “reserve” it.. and I have until the next day to go pick it up! I’ve picked movies out the night before I’m going to rent it, pick out my favorite box location, and then I know it’s there!

The price can’t be beat, but you did want the “best”. 😉

I’m on the email list, fyi

  14. Christina Burrell says

I love that it only cost $1, that the locations are everywhere, and that you can return it to any redbox.

  15. Frin says

The thing I like best about REDBOX is the ability to rent anywhere and return anywhere…..I have a DVD player in the car and when traveling we can rent a movie and return it in a different town OR even a different State! All for a dollar ( or better yet, a FREE CODE , or 5) Lotta love for only a buck!

  16. Melissa G. says

I love the prices and that you can reserve online and pick up when it’s convenient!

  17. Lorayne Gothard says

  18. Amy says

I love the price!! I also love that I can rent it at one kiosk and return it to another!

  19. Sam says

I use Redbox a lot. It’s great especially when they have the free Monday movies, and the occasional codes they give out here and there. Plus it’s local, so not too far to go.

  20. Sam says

What I like about Keeping the Kingdom: Great tips and ideas on the Walgreens purchase + tips on how to save money + list of all the current / upcoming coupons in the paper. That certainly helps out – Thanks 🙂

I love that you have until 9pm the next day to return them. No mad-dash to return them as soon as I get off work.

  25. Ruth says

Redbox is totally cool ! They send you text msgs with coupon codes for free night rental to your cell phone. Plus they have great customer service should you ever have to call them. I tried to return a movie to one of the locations and the machine was full and wouldn’t accept it. I called their number, they apologized for the inconvenience, and emailed 2 codes for free movie rentals ! thanks for the post.

Redbox is quick and easy to use. The occasional codes they issue for free movies are great too!

  28. Stacia Jahnke says

I love all the convenient locations ( right outside or in the stores I already shop!) and the price is awesome! I’m a home daycare provider and it’s great to pop by and grab a new movie to watch every now and then.

  29. twyla says

I love the price. We usually only pay a dollar but if we’re busy and it’s not terrible to have it a few days longer. I subscribe to your rss!

  31. Debbie says

What are you kidding? Redbox is awesome! I only wish I would have come up with the idea of a vending machine for inexpensive entertainment. The economy is tough but an escape for a few hours with an entertaining movie for $1 is welcome in my house anytime.

  32. Leigh says

I love using Redbox because they are only $1, and so easy to return. I like being able to return them anywhere. Their customer service is very good too.

  33. Janna says

I love the price…but the best part for me is that I don’t have to go up and down the aisles of the video store covering the eyes of my children as I search for a movie!

  34. Heather says

I love Redbox. Easy, convient and much cheaper than Blockbuster. Must admit that I am a little unhappy with them lately. The Redbox in my area just raised its prices to $2 per night. Still cheap though.

  35. says

We love RED BOX at our house! New movies for only $1 how can you beat that! And if I forget to bring it back, NO WORRIES only a $1. Also, we all can get what we want for only $1 each, No RE-Run Premium TV channels needed or $4 on demand rentals. LOVE RED BOX:-)
