While I don’t personally have a deck now, I have fond memories of the deck in our childhood home. We did everything out there! Dancing, playing, eating, you name it, my three sisters and I loved being out on the deck! Come to think of it, it was a very frugal way to enjoy some family fun.

But after years of abuse enjoyment, it did not look so welcoming. I think it could have used a good cleaning and a stain, like this one I am giving away from Thompson’s Water Seal.

Since I don’t have a deck, my Mom will actually enjoy a nice surprise in the mail from Thompson’s very soon.  Since she was both mom and dad in our single-parent family, I think she deserves a Father’s Day gift, don’t you? 🙂

    I just left my job to be home with my kids this summer. I would love to just enjoy watching them swim in the pool and play in the yard while relaxing on the deck.

    We are in the process of buying a home that is not only large enough to entertain – but has a deck! So what will we enjoy about our deck? Finally having friends and family over to enjoy each others company and make memories! 🙂

    Our deck turns into a playground for the kids. Lil Man likes to ride his Arctic Cat and tricycle on the deck. He also like to turn it into a speedway for his cars. Sunday afternoons turn into fun family time when we pull up a chair and visit in the cool mountain breeze.

    We really don’t use our deck. But, DH is getting a grill for fathers day so I think it will be getting more use!

    Oooh…we need some of this! Ours isn’t so much a deck as a back porch but in desperate need of lovin’. What I enjoy most is that we can still be outside when it’s raining lightly because it’s covered. It’s also our only shade in the back yard during the day because the sun hits the entire yard from morning until about 5pm!

    I would love to enjoy my deck in anyway! Unfortunately the previous owner, who built it, didn’t do a good job and it’s terrible! We’d love to redo it!!

    During the day we use our deck for the kids…they have their playhouse and sand table out there. At night, we love to grill and eat on the deck. My husband and my deck would love this one. Thanks!

    we have had our deck since last Summer.. my husband built it for me for my mother’s day and birthday during the summer.. we did not have long to enjoy it when he got done since fall was coming when he completed it.. but this year, it has been incredible to sit and have dinner on as a family.. we all love it!

    my husband built our deck last fall so this spring is the first I’ve gotten to enjoy it. I love just sitting on the deck. I think I could sleep outside it is so peaceful to me.

    I love letting my son go out and play. The deck has no stairs so he can’t get away.

    I love our deck because it allows our family to spend time together without interruptions. Grilling out or just hanging out on the deck means not being near the kitchen, tv, or computers. It means really good relaxing family time…which is usually hard to find these days!

    I enjoy sitting on my deck in the morning while having a cup of coffee, and enjoying the wildlife that we have in Maine.
    I especially enjoy having BBQ’s on it, and also relaxing on it after a long day.

    Our deck is fairly private with a gazebo built in. It’s very parklike and peaceful setting out there in the evening. So nice to get away from the cares of the day.

    Oh, if we had only taken the time to do this when we moved in, we might not need a new deck now! However, this will be a blessing for my mother – also both parents in our single-parent home after my father died. I agree; she deserves a father’s day present, too!

    I like that my family can sit out on it and enjoy it. We have BBQs and enjoy reading out on the deck. My older girl loves to listen to her mp3 player on it while trying to get a nap in.

    I love my deck, but it needs to be refinished terribly. My hubby and Dad built it the summer before my Dad passed. He has cancer and none of us knew, yet he was working in the 110 degree heat helping to build a deck and storage building before my twin daughters were born.
