Last week Wags had Pilot pens for 1.99 and I tried to use the Wags coupon and the $1 printable, but they wouldn’t let me. I even added a .17 glue stick to make it over $2, but they still wouldn’t put it through, because the Wags coupon kept beeping. I asked about manually adjusting it, and the “team leader” that had come over to help told me that is illegal. ??? She also said they could not manually adjust the price of the item. Because it was a penny less than the total of the two coupons, I could only use one coupon. I politely thanked her and left without the pens.
Now, I am new to this – only my second purchase at Walgreen’s, and the first time was fantastic – so can anyone tell me what I did wrong, or how I can do something differently? The Wags coupon beeped whether they scanned it first or second, so I’m thinking it was their own problem, but I don’t know. I don’t want to be a bother to them and get a bad reputation, but I would like to be able to take advantage of these great deals without such difficulty.
And was the team leader right about manually adjusting the coupon being illegal? Because, like I told her, every other store does it regularly.
thanks
Great deals!!
