    Good Job!

I went to Rite Aid today and got about $92.50 worth of stuff for a total of $11.50 with rewards, rebates, and coupons. I did three sep. transactions, but the two under $5.00 were:

#1–Two boxes of Platex Tampons and one Oral B toothbrush:

Two for $8 sale, and used three coupons and UP Rwrd. (1) RA $2.00, (2) manu. $2.00, and $2.00 up reward=FREE for two boxes.

Oral B. tb was $2.49, minus (1) $1.00 off RA coupon and (1) $1.00 manu. coupon for a total of $0.49.

with tax it come out to a total of $1.01.

#2–2 containers of Lysol wipes, one bottle of peroxide, and one bottle of rubbing ISP alcohol.

BOGO free Lysol wipes $3.49, and then I used (1) manu coupon for $1.50 off 2 and RA coupon for $1.00 (or vice versa…I forget lol).

BOGO free one bottle of peroxide $1.99, and one bottle of rubbing ISP alcohol, plus $0.50 off RA coupon and $2.00 Up Reward.

    Total receipt w/tax $0.65

The third transaction was more than $5.00, but I still got some great deals!!!

  3. Heather says

When I do my own $5 challenge I try to get as much in one transaction as I can for under $5 and saving as much as possible. Today I went to Walgreens and here is what I scored.

    Transaction #1

    2 Halls Refresh Lemon-Raspberry Cough Drops (20 ct) @ $1 ea
-$1/2 20ct or larger Halls product 10/10 Redplum

    2 Right Guard Total Defense 5 @ b1g1 free (orig $3.99)
-$3/2 Right Guard Total Defense 5 printable

1 Reach Total Care Toothbrush @$3.99
-$2 Reach Toothbrush or Floss in ad coupon
    -$1 Reach Toothbrush 10/10 Redplum

2 Met RX Protein Plus @ $1.79 ea
-B1G1 any Met RX 10/3 SS

Then I used a $3 RR left over from last week
    Total OOP- $2.29
Total Rewards to carry over- $1

    Transaction #2
    1 Colgate Total Advanced toothpaste @ $2.99
-$1/ Colgate Total Advanced toothpaste 10/10 SS

No Nonsense Knee Highs (Deal of the Week) @$0.25
    -$1 RR from previous transaction

    Total OOP-$2.40
    Total Rewards- $1

    Total for Trip $4.69
    Total Saved-$21.36

  4. TERESITA BABCOCK says

I’m curious as to why you buy the Knee high’s? They seem like an unnecessary purchase to me. I know they are only .25 but isn’t that .25c that you can be saving off your $5 budget?

    • says

@TERESITA BABCOCK, Hi Teresita! The knee highs are included in her scenario as a “filler item.” At Walgreens, you can only use one coupon per item (unless in the case of Walgreens in-store coupons where you can use both the Wags in-store coupon with a manufacturer coupon).

The knee-highs act as a cheap filler to allow her to use both the $0.75/1 Crest coupon AND the $1 Register Reward.

      HTH 🙂
