This month, I am sharing giving ideas and special giveaways as part of The 30-Day Giving Challenge.

I am sure you are all familiar with our next well-loved sponsor! I had the opportunity to connect with a Veggies Tales rep directly while at The Relevant Conference a few weeks ago. As I told her about our vision for the Giving Challenge, she enthusiastically came on board!

VeggieTales, created by Big Idea Entertainment, is a Christian animated kids brand featuring Bob the Tomato, Larry the Cucumber and other friendly, silly, singing and dancing vegetables. VeggieTales shows teach Bible-based lessons to kids in a fun and engaging way, such as helping others, the joy of giving, and thankfulness.

VeggieTales has generously offered a set of six DVDs and one music CD to donate to the charity of our choice, and of course a duplicate set for one lucky reader!

Starting with Saint Nicholas: A Story of Joyful Giving, you will find VeggieTales’ theory on giving in the lyrics of one of the show’s songs, “I can love because God loves me, I can give because God gave. Jesus’ love is why I’m smiling, why I’m giving everyday.” In addition to Saint Nicholas, the gift pack includes Sweetpea Beauty, A Silly Little Thing Called Love, It’s A Meaningful Life, Pistachio, Heroes of the Bible, and Bob and Larry Sing the 80’s CD!

  21. Bethany Goff says

What DON’T I love about VeggieTales! I think my favorite thing has to be the unashamed, unabashed Biblical truths they teach. My absolute favorite video, because of this very thing, is “An Easter Carol”, especially because of the song that tells the whole story of Christ from Christmas to the Resurrection. If there was ever a more clear presentation of the Gospel in a child’s video, this has got to be it.

  33. Christina Murry says

I love Veggie Tale because they reinforce what we are trying to teach our children. They hear the readings at Church and sometimes can understand them better because of the what they have seen in a Veggie Tales show. It really help parents with the building blocks of faith and morals. And my children 5 and 11, both prefer it over Ed, Ed, and Eddy.

  34. says

I love that you can trust all of their videos to be good topics that you don’t have to preview before letting your kids watch them. They are even topics of everyday real life that teach kids something useful too which is GREAT!

  55. Laurie says

I love the fact that they’re so upbeat, and yet the characters aren’t “perfect”. They do a good job of letting kids know that bad choices aren’t the end of the world, but you do have to make good choices to fix things. Great lesson that kids are never too young to start learning. 🙂
