Do you ever feel like you are hitting a road block when you try to talk to your kids?

Are you looking for a fun, new way to interact with your children?

Conversation Cards can be a fun game that you play with children of any age. You can make it a game, or choose one of the cards to use as a conversation starter at the supper table.

Some of the sentence starters (a few are pictured above) include easy ones like, “I like spaghetti,” and can be a fun, “I agree,” or “I disagree,” type conversation.

They also include more sensitive topics like, “Sometimes I feel lonely,” that allow your child to elaborate on their feelings.

From the website:

Are you tired of asking your child to talk and not getting much of a response?

Most parents would love to get a sneak peak into their child’s heart and mind… if they only knew how. That’s why Conversation Cards were created!

This highly engaging and interactive game was developed to spark good conversation between parents and kids, whether it’s around the dinner table, passing time “on-the-go,” or winding down to connect before bed.

Created by Dr. Amy Wickstrom, Conversation Cards offers a fun and easy way teach kids about family values, feelings, social skills, and healthy relationships!

Each card in the deck has a “sentence starter” on it that has been used by therapists all over the country to help kids talk and share their hearts. To help parents get the conversation going more effectively, every deck also includes guidelines to help children feel safe, understood, and eager to play.

Our family enjoyed discussing some of these topics at the supper table. Beware: tons of laughter may ensue!

I would use the cards to help my two year old daughter start to put sentences together.

I have seen similar games but have never wanted to spend the money. I have come up with similar topics on my own but would love to have the game!! I know things have been busy for you but I sure have missed your posts!

it’s like pulling teeth to try to get my husband and my 5 year old son to talk, so this would be great for us, i think. especially when my son gets older too, i’m sure. but, i think i would try to make it into some sort of a game. i’d be interested to check out the ‘guidelines’ to help children be eager to play.
