On last night’s episode of Keeping It Centsible, our weekly podcast, Denise and I interviewed 2 amazing moms who work from home. If you missed the show, you are welcome to catch up by listening to the archive. Learn all about getting started as a listener on my Blog Talk Radio 101 post.

We also announced the lucky winners of our Ajo.Bebe travel duo giveaway. Congratulations to commenter #52, Jessica!

The wonderful Mandi Ehman was our first guest. She gave us some valuable information about working from home as a General Transcriptionist. Believe it or not, she has a flexible schedule and earns a legitimate full-time income.

You can learn more about working as a transcriptionist on her blog, Transcription Talk. She also has a comprehensive eBook available to purchase if you are interested in a guide to getting started.

For those of you wanting to learn about monetizing your blog, Mandi recently transcribed the entire Blissdom 09 conference. The affiliate marketing panel is available to purchase for only $15. It contains a ton of helpful monetization tips for bloggers!

We then welcomed the founder and creative genius behind Ajo.Bebe products, which are gorgeous hand-made baby items. You can hear all about how Julie launched her growing business by literally pounding the pavement. Her story is inspiring!

As always, thank you for listening and supporting Keeping It Centsible! We will be back next week (hopefully Denise will not give birth between now and then) for another live episode on Thursday night.

We will cover all of our “Favorite Frugal Tips & Tricks”. Feel free to share yours as well! There will be another great giveaway for our live listeners next week, so I do hope you can tune in.

Pregnancy Update: Denise is now 37 weeks and still working full time. I am just over 30 weeks and working/resting at home. We will both soon be holding our sweet baby boys!

Alyssa, hope you are feeling better than you were a few days ago. Since you will have a little boy soon (and Michael when he visits), thought I would pass along this frugal tip. When the two middle boys were little a friend from church asked me if I cut their hair and I said no. He said to me, “go buy a $20 pair of clippers at Walmart and you’ll save a lot of money doing their hair yourself.” I did and now, 10 years later, I added up the savings for the 3 boys and Joe and it has saved almost $3,000.00! Also, until a few years ago, I would cut Lauren’s, too AND for 6 years I cut my own because I was alway nursing and found it hard to make appointments (because of where we live – small town). Joe actually even pulls my hair through a cap when I want it highlighted (did this last night) and those kits are only $6.00 Anyway, we’ve saved a lot doing that. Of course, not everyone would be comfortable in doing their own cuts or doing the clippers, but it worked for us. Sorry this is soooooo long! Have a good weekend. Hope Christian and family are doing good!
