Once a Week High School Lunch Ministry

March 8, 2010

I am so very excited to share with you a sort-of-new ministry beginning in our student ministry.

You can hear my sweet girls talking (loudly) in the background, but hey… that’s my life!

Check out this latest vlog, and thank you for letting me share our new ministry with you!

What an awesome way to minister to kids…our school does Bible Club and the churches take turns every week feeding the kids as we have closed campus. Area youth ministers take turns speaking and even upper classmen pray and share. Know that you and Shane will be richly rewarded…I have had Tyler’s friends over after church to hang out and did a taco bar where they build there own tacos…had sopilla cheesecake for dessert! They LOVED it! No need for a mixer if you are in a crunch to get things done:) Prayin’ for you guys!!!

You are soooo brave – lunch would be a disaster is I was in charge!!!!! That is why God put YOU in charge of cooking – that way the kids will feel full and refreshed! Looking forward to hearing more!

Amy,
That looks like a lot of work and alot of fun! It is definitely a ministry of love!
Before we were youth pastors, we were youth workers, and our Youth Pastor would go into the High Schools – we have 5 – and show up at a lunch table with Taco Bell Burritos and Tacos – throw them on the table and “Fished For Men’! It greatly increased our attendance and we were able to really grow up some great leaders! You have given these kids a way to invite other kids to a time away from school! A great and inventive idea!
