Hefty Basics: Biodegradable Paper Plates {Giveaway}

It has been a long time since I have used paper plates with our family. We tend to only use them for birthday parties (when the girls want “decorated” plates).

Even for the parties, I still get a twitch as I watch all of the plates and cups get tossed.

Yeah, I have a few issues šŸ˜‰

I was recently contacted by Hefty about a new campaign they are working on. I have to admit, I was intrigued, because Hefty is known for their disposable products, and I wondered what this new campaign was all about.

Hefty has now come out with a line of biodegradable and compost-able products called Hefty Basics.

The all-new HeftyĀ® Basics disposable tableware product line. This line of paper plates are biodegradable in-home composting and free of inks, dyes or coatings. HeftyĀ® Basicsā„¢ paper plates are stronger than everyday plates at a value price, and provide a great choice for people interested in an environmental option.

When I received the plates, I immediately tried them out because I was honestly a bit skeptical that they would “hold up”.

They did.

The plates were incredibly strong and held up just as well as a regular plate AND better than most paper plates I have used in the past.

Hefty Basics are definitely a product I would consider purchasing to use for parties, because not only are they ink- and dye-free, but you can toss them in your compost, rather than the trash.
