Mother’s Meatballs

March 22, 2010

This is another recipe from my Momma’s kitchen! I love sharing her and my grandmothers’ recipes with you! I call this recipe simply, “Mother’s Meatballs.”

Mother’s Meatballs

Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup UNCOOKED rice (I prefer the Minute Rice)
  • 1lb hamburger or turkey meat
  • 1/4 to 1/2 onion, finely chopped
  • 1 egg
  • 3/4 cup ketchup
  • Salt and Pepper to taste

Directions

1. Spray 9×13 pan with Pam OR cover cookie sheet with parchment paper.

2. Mix ingredients in large bowl.

3. Roll into balls.

4. Bake at 350° for 45 minutes.

Serve with your favorite pasta or spaghetti dish!

Oooh, I like the idea of rice as a binder. Those sound delicious.

Yum! Never tried rice before in meatballs, and I do love it with beef in cabbage rolls…makes so much sense!

Thank you for sharing this!
