Loving Your Husband: Cook for Him

i-love-my-husbandThere is a saying that you can reach a man’s heart through his stomach. It always made me giggle to hear that, but truly, it is not far from the truth.

One of my favorite ways to show my husband I love him is to cook for him.

You do not have to be a great chef  to make a nice, simple, homemade meal for your husband. You don’t even have to have a lot of time.

Have you seen my spur-of-the-moment Quick and Easy Chicken Spaghetti? It was a huge hit with my husband. And, in all truthfulness, it was not anything spectacular!

When I make a hot meal for my husband, it shows that I am thinking about him, and care about his welfare. He can see that I have taken time out of my day to make sure he (and our family) is taken care of.

Another meal that was super-easy, and thrown together was a take on Cooking During Stolen Moment’s Easy and Creamy Italian Skillet Dinner. I did not have the ricotta cheese the recipe calls for, so I substituted it with cream cheese. I also used ground turkey, rather than ground beef. The result was amazing, and so. very. simple.

When cooking for your husband, remember it isn’t about the food, the recipe, or whether or not it is “gourmet.” The important thing is that you are thinking of your husband, and showing him your love through your time and effort (even if it didn’t take that long, or much effort!).

What can you do this week to show your husband you love him? Do you have any favorite recipes that are quick and easy?

This is so true. So often we think of cooking as a chore or just something we have to do, but if you look at preparing meals this way it makes the cooking and all the prep that meal time takes so much more enjoyable and worth it.

So often I do all of the cooking even though my hubby likes to help. On the times that he does help it is the best experience ever. The kids get involved and it is a great family bonding time! It doesn’t happen often enough simply because his schedule is so demanding of him. Thanks for the reminders! I appreciate seeing them!

Some of the best advice I ever received about loving my hubby was to spend a little time chasing peace before he gets home. Another mom shared about how her hubby finally admitted that he had circled their block on many occasions because he was trying psyche himself up for the chaos. It will always be chaos, but my hubby REALLY appreciates it if I can greet him with a sane smile when he gets home.

Wonderful post! This is very easy for me because I love to cook and do it every day! I show my love for my family through the meals that I prepare for them. I plan my menus in advance with a lot of consideration to their likes and dislikes.

Haha! I know that saying. Not once did I cook for him and he fell madly in love anyway hehe 🙂

BUT!! Now that I DO cook at home, he appreciates it very much. I was able to reach his heart in the past, but now, I have done it again and THIS time its through homemade meals.

I am going to try this. It has been very hard for me to cook for husband due to time constraints, but I’m giving this a try for two weeks. Fingers crossed!

I’m going to give it a go. Due to time restrictions, I’ve found it difficult to cook for my spouse, but I’m giving it a shot for two weeks. Keep your fingers crossed!
